Ride with the Pack Through the Alaskan Wilderness

You didn’t come to Alaska to watch from the sidelines!

The trails winding through the Boreal forest outside of Base Camp aren’t just scenic. They’re over a century old, carved into the Interior Alaska wilderness to carry mail between Nenana, Ester, & Fairbanks long before a single railroad spike was driven. Dog teams ran these routes for survival & to maintain communities that had no other lifeline.

Now? You have the opportunity to partake in this privileged history.

Settle into the sled as your expert musher takes the helm and a team of eager, trail-bred sled dogs pulls you into the Alaska wilderness. This isn’t a zoo encounter or a staged photo op. You’re in the sled — close enough to hear every pant, every paw on packed snow, every command echoed across a forest that hasn’t changed in over a hundred years. Your guide brings the history of these trails to life as you move through them, connecting what you’re experiencing in real time to the men, dogs, & mail runs that shaped Interior Alaska long before the modern world arrived.

It’s not a ride. It’s a front-row seat to one of the most storied corners of Alaskan culture. The only way to experience it is exactly the way it was always meant to be traveled, on a dog-team sled.

No experience necessary. Just show up ready.
